Astronomy as a Field

Polzin et al. (2023b)

Astronomy as a Field was created for students participating in the SIRIUS B VERGE program. It serves as a general introduction to the field for students and enthusiasts alike, with content that is useful/informative for anyone interested in astronomy. A virtual copy can be accessed on arXiv or – in a more interactive form – here:

In addition to being shared widely online, hard copies have been distributed at the following universities:

  • University of Chicago
  • University of Colorado Boulder
  • University of Massachusetts Amherst
  • University of Pittsburgh
  • Yale University

If you would like to order print copies of Astronomy as a Field (at-cost), please email me!

Similarly, Astronomy as a Field is currently being translated into languages other than English. If you would like to volunteer to (help) translate, please also reach out.

Astronomy as a Field was highlighted by Yale Physics, Astronomy (in their news and newsletter), and Wright Laboratory.
